Part I of our business analysis gives you information about the economic situation of your filling-station in a form that is easy to understand.

You can see,

 

• where the money is being earned,

 

• how much you've spent on realising those earnings,

 

• what your current profit or loss status is, and

 

• what effect this is having on the level of your working capital and your liquidity.

 

 

In the areas of turnover / gross earnings, expenditure / costs and profit / loss, you have the figures at your fingertips, both monthly and accumulated for the year.

 

In part II of the business analysis you look out beyond your own company at the position of your competitors.

 

 

In order only to compare what is comparable, we compare your product category turnover and expense categories only with the average figures from competitors whose filling-stations are similar to your own in terms of the number of litres of petrol / diesel sold or shop turnover – on the one hand within your own network, and on the other in relation to the market as a whole.

 

It's good to know where you currently stand (Business Analysis Part I). It's better still to know the positions of your competitors (Business Analysis Part II). But having said that, you can't derive the right actions from that information until it is clear to you what it is you still wish to achieve. That is exactly where the emphasis is in Part III of our edtas business analysis.

 

Here, the current turnover and costs are compared with those of the previous year and with the figures from the current business plan. The review refers in each case to the same month in the previous year and the accumulated figures from the previous year. As well as the current pro-rata budgeted figures, the preview shows the annual targets and expected figures for the year, calculated on the basis of the actual values so far. The discrepancies between the annual targets and expected figures for the year show immediately where action needs to be taken.

 

Also of great practical importance is being able to take a reliable look at the liquid assets available at any given time.
